Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum: Honoring the 38th President of the United States, Ford was the only U.S. President never to be elected to the office. His tenure as President was short – but impactful. The museum features both a permanent collection, as well as many temporary exhibits. Permanent exhibits include rare photos and documents of Ford’s; Current Temporary exhibits document his presidential campaign in 1976. A must for junior high and high school students.
Voigt Victorian Museum: Built in 1895 for Carl G.A. Voigt, this pristine and well-maintained Victorian home offers a perspective into Victorian life in Michigan. The house was occupied by family until 1972. When the last family member died, the house became a museum. Featuring original furnishing and décor, visitors are treated to a by-gone era.
Grand Rapids Public Museum: Billed originally as “Cabinets of Curiosities”, the museum features a variety of exhibits, artifacts and curios that represent the history and growth of Grand Rapids over the last 150 years.
Grand Rapids Children’s Museum: Located in a 1916-era building with large glass windows makes this interactive museum hard to miss! This family-fun, two-story museum celebrates childhood and offers hands-on experience that promotes creative thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and social emotional skills. Suitable for all ages!

Calvin Eco Reserve and Nature Gardens: Offering 100 acres of native plants and habitats, the Reserve and Nature Gardens provides opportunities for long walks, picnics and examination of fauna, flora and insects for your budding entomologist. Camps, family, and early childhood education are also offered.
Blanford Nature Center: Blanford’s mission is to engage and empower the community through nature. Many classes, for all ages, are offered and give kids the opportunity to experience everything from farm animals to gardening to blacksmithing. Camps are also available for kids ranging in ages from 4-12.
Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park: Ranked in the 100 most-visited museums, this sculpture garden offers both an opportunity to view powerful and exquisite sculptures, but also offers an outdoor adventure. Horticulture abounds in the various indoor and outdoor gardens including the seasonal greenhouse and the Victorian Garden Parlor.
Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park: Boulder Ridge is a private zoo that offers over 120 species of animals on 80 acres of land in Kent County, MI. Bring the entire family to feed the Giraffes, hang out with Penguins, and check out the reptile house and petting zoo area!
