About Therapy Lab

Millions of Americans are searching for better therapy and mental health support. Therapy Lab’s mission is to provide a smart therapy and assessment platform that works with modern life. Therapy Lab’s menu of therapy plans offers clients a new paradigm for therapy, and we have a clinician team that’s passionate about this format.  We’ve recently expanded our assessment program as well, and we focus on ADHD, autism spectrum, and brain health / memory (for older adults).

TL’s plans are time-limited, structured, and evidence-based, and they are accompanied by content to enhance the client and therapist experience.  The plans work efficiently for clients, and clinicians love to deliver them. In addition to our therapy services, we now offer virtual assessments designed to be efficient, affordable, and available with no wait. Beyond face-to-face session time with clients, clinicians play a role in refining plans, new services, and collaborating with referral partners to drive better patient outcomes.

Team culture is important at TL!  We are a mostly virtual team, which offers clinicians flexibility, and we prioritize our team connections, collaboration and our mission, along with attractive benefits. We are a clinician-led company, led by Dr. Chandler Chang, and our core belief is that taking care of clinicians is essential to providing good client care.

Job Description

Therapy Lab seeks a Washington-licensed therapist (psychologist preferred) with a passion for evidence-based treatments and assessment. TL is based in L.A. and serves California, Washington and seven other states, with services for the lifespan: adults, couples, children, teens, and families. We are seeking a skilled, licensed psychologist (Ph.D., Psy.D.) to provide individual and/or family therapy and assessments in a remote / teletherapy position. The ideal candidate is highly qualified to work with a pediatric population and also has experience providing in-person or remote assessments. Experience treating adults is preferred, but not required.  Occasional work in an office may be required by the end of the year but would likely not exceed 25% of your work time.

Therapy Lab’s clients are typically low-risk, high-functioning individuals seeking insight, psychoeducation, and science-based intervention or diagnostic clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide at least 32 hours per week of availability for therapy sessions or assessment appointments. Total commitment is 40 hours/week, which includes session time, administration, communication, and team meetings.
  • Meet with the assessment services director on a monthly basis for the first 4-6 months to ensure that our standards and procedures are followed for all cases.
  • Offer availability to include after-school windows from 3-6pm (Pacific Standard Time) at least 3 days per week in person or virtually.
  • Meet with clients weekly (or more frequently) per clients’ needs.
  • Attend required meetings, including group consultation, check-ins with clinical lead, a Unified Protocol consultation group (monthly for first 6 months), and monthly all-team. Attend regular training sessions as directed.
  • Complete administrative duties (weekly notes, file upkeep) and communicate with the team promptly.
  • Complete literature review and protocol self-study on an ongoing basis, as needed.
  • Learn and use our scheduling/billing software while managing your availability and calendar in a timely way.
  • Communicate and collaborate with outside professionals as needed (e.g., client’s physician, psychiatrist), both for clinical purposes and to build a referral network.
  • Represent Therapy Lab in professional interactions and cultivate a community of like-minded colleagues.

About You

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology or LCSW, with sufficient assessment training. Licensure (or license-eligible) in Washington state. PSYPACT eligibility or credentials are a huge bonus.
  • Specific training and 2-4 years of clinical experience providing evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and families. Experience treating adults is a plus!
  • Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback and team collaboration.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus! We are not a traditional practice. We have a passion for innovating mental health and introducing CBT-based approaches to more people and love brainstorming new products and activities.
